Cold Days in our Pj's

It has been so cold here for the last week or so. We have stayed in our pj's a lot lately. I ended up with the croup and then my 1st ear infection. I am much better, but mommy is sick now. Since we have not been able to go outside much, I have been having to entertain myself inside. I have started turning everything that makes music on at the same time. Once they stop, I start them all again. Imagine this... Elmo singing the "hokey poky" while the barn on the fridge sings "old McDonald" while the valentine dogs sings "do you love me" ...get the picture. Mommy does not even notice it anymore, but it drives daddy crazy.

Pretending to talk to daddy on the phone
Proud owner of my first 3 molars. Yes I cut them all at the same time. One more on the way. Oh yeah, I went for my 2nd dentist visit. Not much different from the first. I screamed the minute he started looking at me. He told my mom she needed to start flossing my teeth. Who flosses a 16 month old's teeth? OK, sawyer I am sure that your daddy does yours, but who else?
"It's a shoe"

It is hard to walk in mommy's shoes.

I will try daddy's.

Happy Birthday Daddy and Aunt Dawn! I called daddy and said "happy day dada." That was the highlight of his day.
Mommy made a guitar cookie cake. It was so delicious.

Moose Knee

Hey! It is mom here. Yesterday, Mary Ella was pushing her baby dolls around the house in her stroller. I kept hearing her say something that sounded like "moose knee". I was busy in the kitchen so I just kept listening trying to figure out what she was saying. Finally, I stopped to watch her. Every time she would run into to something she would say "moose knee." It hit me she was trying to say excuse me. How cute!

1st trip to the movies - The Tale of Despereaux

A weekend at Lily's

We spent the weekend in Birmingham with Aunt Dawn, Uncle Bill, Lily and their golden Sadie. I had the best time. Lily and I played so well together. It is amazing that we are only 3 weeks apart, but we polar opposites. One funny thing (or at least everyone else thought it was funny) I freaked out when Aunt Dawn put me in a bubble bath. The bubbles were covering up my feet and legs and I thought they were gone.

Mary Ella, I want to give you a kiss.
I love Sadie.
We went to my cousin Sawyer's 1st birthday. He did not like his cake, but he enjoyed all his new toys.

My favorite part of any party is the balloons (aka "ball")
Of course, we had to go check out the new Bass Pro Shop. Daddy had some Christmas money burning a hole in his pocket.

2008 - What a year!

Wow what a year 2008 has been. In the last year, our family has laughed and enjoyed life more than ever before. Mary Ella has been the best blessing from God. We have watched her grow from a newborn to a sweet toddler that grins all day long.

These are a few things that she does that make us laugh. She…

loves a plastic bowl and spoon.

says "tata" (thank you)

grunts when she sits down on Memaw's bottom step

walks around with the phone saying hello "lo"

loves to "rock rock"

calls our dogs Duke and Annie, “dukduk and nanie”

will push her lawn mower up and down the driveway as long as we let her

gives us the sign for more when she wants to eat

loves to get into our bed on Saturday morning

barks at the dogs in the neighborhood as well as the mounted deer on the wall

laughs hysterically when you play chase with her

says “bless you” when you sneeze

loves Winnie the Pooh, “pooh-pooh”

calls any kid no matter how old “babe”

loves her cousins

pulls the blinds up and calls for her “dada”

sneaks into the foyer to play a tune on the piano

loves to sing while her “dada” plays the guitar

quacks at the black duck at the pond

loves to have music going at all times

loves goodnight moon and time for bed

kisses the duck in her little duck book

tries to hold the animals on the pages of her books

always wants to play with the phone and remote

dances all the time and says "danzing"

will play for hours with her kitchen set

likes to in hide in our closet in the dark and says “boo” when you find her

says “mama” 1000 times a day

wants cheese “cheeeeese” and fruit “fuute” for every meal

says “did it” when she turns on her sound machine

has a new favorite animal…a horse…she can make the sound too

loves to snuggle with her bunny

has mastered cup, bye bye, luv you, and hey

will say “uh uh uh” until she gets what she wants

has a guitar lip when she is studying something (her daddy does too)

loves to walk around naked patting her big belly before bath time

hugs her stuffed animals and says “ah wee”

waves at everyone while we stroll

has an obsession with crayons and pens

knows to do her prayer hands and say the blessing before eating

has the best smile and a contagious laugh

We love you so much Mary Ella.

Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the plans the I have for you, says the Lord, plans of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and hope.

Happy New Year!

Aunt Jen-Jen cooked up some of her delicious chicken and dumplings for dinner. Gray and Uncle Adam put on a spectacular firework show. I can not think of a better way to spend New Year's Eve.
Nate enjoyed the view from the window. The fireworks were not so loud there.
I loved the fireworks.
